Welcome to the Programs & Services of the Cumberland County Association for Indian People (CCAIP)
We are committed to fostering the self-determination and self-sufficiency of Native Americans in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Through a diverse array of culturally relevant programs, services, and initiatives, we aim to empower individuals and families within our community. Whether you’re seeking educational resources, employment assistance, family support services, or cultural preservation programs, CCAIP is here to support your journey toward a brighter and more resilient future.
Tuition Assistance
CCAIP aims to support Native American students in Cumberland County who are pursuing higher education, including college or trade school, by providing financial assistance for tuition, books, and fees. This program seeks to reduce financial barriers, encourage academic achievement, and increase the number of Native American students completing higher education or vocational training.
Utilities Assistance
This CCAIP program helps eligible Native American families cover essential utility bills, ensuring access to electricity, water, and heating during times of financial hardship.
Holiday Gift Cards for Families in Need
Sponsored by our generous partners, this initiative provides $100 gift card to eligible Native American / Alaskan Native (AI/AN) families in financial need. Redeemable at Food Lion grocery stores, the program helps families celebrate the holiday season with dignity and joy. Applications are currently closed. Recipients can pick up their gift cards Monday-Tuesday, December 16-17, 2024 between the hours of 10am-3pm.
Cultural Preservation
CCAIP’s cultural preservation program is designed to celebrate, preserve, and revitalize the cultural heritage of Native American communities in Cumberland County. The program hosts and supports a range of cultural programs, workshops, and events that showcase traditional arts, languages, stories, music, and dances, while also fostering intergenerational knowledge transfer and community pride.
Learning Labs & Resources Coming Soon!
The CCAIP Learning Lab aims to offer a variety of online courses and resources tailored to Native American business owners, entrepreneurs, students, and professionals. Topics range from marketing and business development, to public speaking, workplace soft skills, resume building, cultural arts, and more. This space is a hub for lifelong learning and professional growth.
